To achieve the dept of the glaze, we fire this piece twice. The result is a layered glaze that evokes the quiet majesty of a glacier. Primarily a soft, translucent white, it carries a barely-there wash of pale blue that seems to surface through the texture like ice beneath snow. The finish is smooth yet subtly varied, catching light in a way that reveals its depth—cool, ethereal, and quietly luminous.

In Kalin Asenov's studio located in Savannah, GA, each piece is meticulously handcrafted using the slab construction technique. 
This ancient method of hand-building creates a direct and enduring link between the artist and the artifact. 
The shapes are formed without the use of a pottery wheel, employing only the hands and basic tools. Each labor-intensive piece begins with a predefined design, yet the construction process and the variability of natural materials ensure that each creation is subtly distinct. Variations may include slight differences in size, a gentle undulation in the clay, or a variation in the glaze's intensity. 
The end product is a unique and exceptional item, its traits bearing witness to the artist's personal touch.
